Bucktail and Capon Trails Great North Mountain 15 m

Glad that I hiked with William again after so many years. We did Bucktail and Capon Trails Great North Mountain 15 miles with 2200 ft gain in a almost summer day. William found some wild oyster mashrooms to show the group, but I could only buy oyster mashrooms in the market. We came across a turtle on the trail, and I was surprised by a moving black snake on the trail. When got home saw the wildly grown glass in my yards, I used the last bit energy left to mow the yards. Now my azaleas look pretty in the the yards. — at George Washington National Forest.

Fixed one hiking pole

I followed Black Diamond technician's instructions, and fixed my right hiking pole in 5 minutes. The problem on this pole is the joint piece slipped up inside the next upper section. I used a flathead screwdriver, inserted it into the stuck joint piece. Torque it against the sides and pulled to draw it back out. Then I used a very small amount of epoxy, positioned it back into the correct place. Wiped away any excess and let it cure at room temperature. It should be good to go. I will test it this weekend. I love this pair of Black Diamond Distance Z Z-Poles, super light, and folded into 34 cm long, great for international hiking trips.

World Intellectual Property Day

I was in the USPTO Design Day in Alexandria (updates about design patent case law and fashion law), IPI's 2017 World Intellectual Property Day Celebration (updates about piracy issues and AI patent trends) in the Reserved Officers Association building in DC, and then the Ohio Congressional Reception. Quite a busy day. — at Reserved Officers Association.

GWNF: Big Schloss & Circumnavigation of Trout Run Valley hike 27 M

I was a perfect sunny clear cool spring day for GWNF: Big Schloss & Circumnavigation of Trout Run Valley hike 27 Mi 4000 ft gain. Thanks for the help of my fellow hikers to finish this hike in 10 hours during day light, after my failed attempt in December 2015, when I took a ride with kind mr bill peters at 21 m point to avoid hiking the steep down sections in the dark. So many flowers on the trails, and 1st time saw a hiker smoking a cigar on the trail (a magic to make the last hiker catch up quicker, he said). Some of us had dinner at Pho Duong after the hike. — at Big Schloss.

comedy OR, By Liz Duffy Adams

I watched a classic comedy OR, By Liz Duffy Adams. An ex-spy tried to start her career as a play writer while seduced by King Charles II as his mistress. — at Round House Theatre.

BlueBell flower hike at Great Falls

I took a 20Miles BlueBell flower hike at Great Falls With a group, but turned around to finish 12 miles only in order to catch a 2 pm play. There were 6 cars waiting for my spot when I left. Plenty of bluebells and ran into a bluebell festival at the riverbank park. Unfortunately, I fell and hit my left buttock on the trail today. I cannot see but feel the bruise. — at Difficult Run.

Robertson-Stony Man-Nicholson Hollow Circuit 16 mile hike

I hiked 16 mile 4100 ft gain along Robertson-Stony Man-Nicholson Hollow Circuit with a group in this sunny and cool day. I felt stronger than 2 weeks ago on a similar hike. The cool temperature helped. I met another hiking dog Scout today. She is a 8 yr old black lap.
