I hiked with a group of 22 people on the unusual 70f cool summer day along Staunton River Trail and Bear Church Rock for 16 miles with 4000 ft gain. Not much berries but over a dozen of bear poops on the trails. I tried on my new hiking boots and hat, and carpooled with my favorite hiking dog Sierra. — checked in to Bear Church Rock.

15 m hike Devils Stairs-Hogback-Elkwallow

Thanks Karen and Lou for leading this 15 m 3400 ft gain hike in such steaming summer day along Little Devils Stairs-Hogback-Elkwallow. It was in high 70f up little devils stairs but very humid and my sweat kept on flowing into my eyes. I was joking with Abe about my possibility of getting free black berry ice cream at lunch stop, yet he actually treated me 🙂

I also caught up Shelley about her hike in Vancouver Island on the West Coast trail and reunited with my favorite hiking dog Sierra. There were not as many wild berries today, but I managed to ate handful.

At the end of the hike, dear Karen hosted a watermelon and icy cool drink party at the trail head. I got to sign up with her next hike. I was soaked at the centrvillle park and ride by the thunderstorm but now enjoying the cool air at home. What a great day!
