Tuscarora trail in GW national forest

I hiked with a meetup group and a hiking dog on this sunny cool fall day along Tuscarora Trail - Three Top Mountain in GW National Forest for 13+ miles with 2450 ft gain. We passed a private property to get on the ridges, had lunch at a reserver, and cross paths with some mountain bikers.

Play: Emilie: La Marquise Du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight".

After having Bolivian lunch (fried chicken steak, yucca cheese balls, etc. I went watching an intriguing play at Gunston theater in Arlington: "Emilie: La Marquise Du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight".

Emilie du Châtelet, an 18th century noblewoman who’s whip-smart with numbers and natural laws, was born too early for her society to appreciate her brilliance. She was described as "a great man whose only fault was being a woman."

The play writer brilliantly told Emilie's at the moment of her death as flashbacks of key moments of her life which added up together her body, mind, and soul.

Networking Reception and Lecture In Education Research

I went in DC for the Women, Law, and Legal Advocacy Networking Reception in a law firm and the 14th Annual AERA Brown Lecture In Education Research in Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. During the reception, I talked with several undergrad students about their career options.  After the lecture, I chatted with a Phd student and a school teacher about issues discussed in the lecture, such as racial bias in academic researches.

DC Cyberweek in Tysons Corner

I attended a DC Cyberweek event at Tysons corner. A lot of supply chain security breach instances, such as shadow brokers, Wannacry, votor records, Equifax, etc. Supply chain breaches caused me personal grief at least once a year since three years ago via fraudulent credit card spendings which were especially annoying when I was travelogue overseas, so I pay close attention to the development. However, not much discussion about  solutions to the issues.  Nevertheless, the Capital Grille-hosted networking happy hour at the end of the event  provided quality finger food and liqueur.

DC CyberWeek (October 16 - 20, 2017) is a week-long SXSW-style festival in DC bringing together leaders, experts, and decision makers from the gov and tech communities.
