A play about choosing career vs. family

Watched a 3-hr play/comedy "Rapture, Blister, Burn" One female classmate built a career as a rock-star academic while the other built a home with a husband and children, and both are unfulfilled in opposite ways and each woman wants the other’s life. Didn't we have the same struggle making the choices?!
— at Round House Theatre.

Bourbon tasting

I learned the history of bourbon of Maker’s Mark® and tasted 4 kinds of bourbon including Maker’s 46®, Knob Greek, and 3 kinds of bourbon cocktails, also received nice souvenirs dipped in a red wax pot. Somehow the maker in KY has a barrel for me since 2008 — at Magruder's DC.

More Winter Exercises?

Skipped work and had my 2nd $ 1 ice skating. — at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
It appears that people have more time to exercise on snow days. Last night self defense class was full house, and my practicing partner sweating like in hot yoga

Improv comedy

Watched the improv comedy by Porkchop Valcano group — at Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse
Improvisational theatre, often called improv or impro, is a form of theater where most or all of what is performed is created at the moment it is performed. I saw better groups before, yet this one was entertaining for a cold Saturday night.

My 1st corssfit class

Almost got killed on the crossfit class after my 2nd Israeli self defense class. I was exhausted after 2 cycles of 8 routines — at Vienna Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Self DefenseCrossFit, Inc. is a fitness company founded by Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai in 2000. Promoted as both a physical exercise philosophy.

Funny comments from a friend "Don't kill yourself at crossfit trying to keep up with the 20 year olds. You aren't a spring chicken anymore."

Presentation on "Cycling the Great Allegheny Passage

Attended the presentation on "Cycling the Great Allegheny Passage" with Adventure Cycling, got info and a nice biking hat— at REI Tysons. I am thinking about biking (self-contained) on the C & O Canal and  the Great Allegheny Passage either separately or together in late Spring 2015 to test my body and biking gears before my trans-America biking trip in May-July 2015.  I can ride one-way and then take a train back home.

Israeli self defense

Took my first Israeli self defense class with basic moves, kicks, a static choke sequence, and under gun point defense. These skills will be handy for my cross US cycling trip in summer 2015 — at Vienna Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense. Israeli Self defense is used by special forces soldiers and effective in real life situations.

Here is a Youtube clip on "How to Defend against a Gun to the Face"

I was robbed in Turkey once and so attached to my passport such that I did not fight, but now I know better.

Running as a habit

Felt my left angle acting up so stopped running at 10 miles (10:54 per mile). Now running becomes a habit even though no plan for any race— in Falls Church, Virginia.
