I
planned to take a 17 m hike in the GWNF: Duncan Knob & Strickler
Knob with Rock Scramble, to ease into 20+ distance hikes after my 2.5
month overseas trip. However, it was canceled last night after I went to
bed so I knew after woke up at 6 am. This was the third time a long
distance Sunday hike got cancelled by this meetup group, so I will not
bother to sign up in the future. I ran 13.1 miles in the high school
instead. It was cool and foggy, then turned hot and sunny. — checked in to George Mason High School.

financial planning seminar with French wine tasting
I
drove via a severe thunderstorm to attend a financial planning seminar
as a guest of a friend, and enjoyed the food and wine pairing led by a
certified sommelier. He shared stories of the new and old world wine,
including the Judgment of Paris (wine), a wine competition organized in
Paris on 24 May 1976 a panel of top French wine experts blind tasted and
chose unknown California wines over France's best. — checked in to 1757 Golf Club.

Office summer putting at Mount Vernon, Virginia
We
had a great office summer putting, started from a gourmet breakfast
with champagne to go, strolled to Alexandra dock to get on a boat tour
over the National Harbor, and arrived the Mount Vernon estate for lunch
and tour. The final bakery stop was for sweet and icy cold drinks.
Mount Vernon was the 8000-acre plantation house of George Washington,
first President of the United States, who freed all his slaves later.
This was the three time I visited mount Vernon, yet first walked via the
whole estate including the farm near the river bank, the flower garden,
and the museum/emulation center. — checked in to Mount Vernon, Virginia.

Mehr Bro's Flowers
I
met a friend there who helped the daughter of the deceased owner to
wrap up some lose ends to vacate the nursery before the developer come
in tomorrow. The pasted owner and the daughter hung on to this community
beloved nursery barely breaking even, until they can no longer afford
the ever increasing Fairfax county real property tax. I posted six old
photos and five now photos. I will probably move away for the high
taxes. — checked in to Mehr Bro's Flowers.
