I ushered and watched the play Trevor, an erratic, 200-pound chimpanzee
used to have fame, success, and the lies by his owner Sandra, who swears
he would never hurt a fly…at least not on purpose. The animal and his
owner remind me of the politicians in the White House who have
perceptions different from human reality, with no clue of the impacts of
their actions, and believe they were always right, like Trevor the
chimp who just wants to cuddle a crying human baby. I do not hate these
politicians, but feel sorry for them as I feel for Trevor the chimp. — at First Stage.
