drama/comedy "Well"

I ushered this 1:45 drama/comedy "Well" tonight. This "solo show with people in it,” asked the provocative question: “Do we create our own illness?” The complicated answers were delivered via depth, infectious humor. — at First Stage.

Wework Creator Awards

I am at the Wework Creator Awards event to listen to all the inspiring social entrepreneurs' stories and operational models. It is uplifting! The awards winnerss will get $70-130 k no-string attached money for their efforts. WeWork is an American company which provides shared workspace community. As to the venue, I have passed it so many times yet 1st time got in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium (originally named the Departmental Auditorium), a 750-seat historic Neoclassical auditorium connects the two wings of the United States Environmental Protection Agency building, but available for public use and all packed today. — at Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.

I attended two congressional receptions, one by American brewage association to sample over 70 kinds of soft drinks and the other titled Game changers in global health game night with some public health informative games. I got some interesting sunset shots on my 1.5 mile walk to another venue. — at Rayburn House Office Building.

fully-staged workshop "The ORBIT OF MERCURY"

I watched an intriguing fully-staged workshop "The ORBIT OF MERCURY" by a DC play writer with an prior colleague, and then swing by the Kenwood neighborhood in Bethesda for the cherry blossom. The story was well delivered via the play with several surprising twists that you need to go to see it yourself. — at Spooky Action Theater.

Robertson/Stony Man Mtns & Cutoff/Nicholson Hollow 16 m

I took Endurance hike: Robertson/Stony Man Mtns & Cutoff/Nicholson Hollow in 75f today and bailed out at 16 mile 3700 ft gain with another hiker because we were tired. The other 4 hikers took the hot-short mountain loop to add a total of 22 miles 4700 ft gain. So many people hiked in SNP today. I saw a few tents on the trails too. — at Robertson Mountain.

"Back to Methuselah" play

I watched a 1:45 thought provoking play "Back to Methuselah" about the nature of life. It depicts imagined human development from Adam & Eve to the far future--from (in George Bernard Shaw's subtitles) "In the Beginning" to "As Far as Thought Can Reach." — at United Methodist Building.

Church of the Ascension and Saint Agnes

After a fintech meetup in DuPont circle, I walked into the sunset at the circle, a monument I never paid attention to, and along mass ave for 1.5 m to see a play. I could not believe how many new apartments were built since I walked by last time. By accident, I got in this 200-yr church for the 1st time, and the staff kindly turned on the lights for me to see the Inside, and took my photos. Unlike New York City, most private churches are only open to their own congregations. — at Church of the Ascension and Saint Agnes.

Environmental Films on Bhutan

I  watched the powerful expedition film: crossing Bhutan: 4 Americans sponsored by Bhutan Olympic committee to hike and bike 42 days via the magnificent landscape Bhutan for the 1st of Bhutan history. Make me want to go back to hike in the Himalaya!

watched another adventure film this afternoon: Power of the River: Expedition to the Heart of Water in Bhutan, into the unexplored water to keep the country’s mightiest river wild and free, including Class IV+ rapids. I was almost drawn in a class IV rapid in PA years ago, and still fearful of unknown water today. It was a sunny yet cold afternoon in DC.
