Rocky Strickler Knob
I hiked with a meetup group today for 15.5 miles with 2700 feet
elevation gain to Strickler Knob and Jawbone Gap in the George
Washington National Forest (over 1.5 hrs drive from Centreville). The
weather was hotter than expected, and one hiker had cramps and delayed
the hike over 1.5 hrs. I pushed via the rocky trails yet skipped the
last 20 feet up to the Strickler Knob (borrowed other hikers photos for
the top views).

First Stage play “Trying”
I ushered at First Stage for the play “Trying”, a female Canadian
assistant’s real experience working for Francis Biddle at his home in
Washington, DC from 1967-1968. Judge Biddle was Former Attorney General
of the United States under Franklin Roosevelt and Chief Judge of the
American Military Tribunal.

Congressional receptions by Marine and by industrial manufacturers
I went in DC tonight for two Congressional receptions: one by Marine
manufacturers and the other by industrial manufacturers. Among the
industrial booths, I was most impressed by the flexible electrical
circuit sheets which can be put on clothes or human (to communicate with
a smart phone or the like via Bluetooth), as well as a compact
electrical vehicle charging unit that can do the job in 30 minutes
instead of the current 3 hrs. I played the Virtual Reality boating
driving and had my photos taken with fishing and other backgrounds. In
addition, I got a hold of my friend Darrell working on the Capital Hill.

57 miles bike ride between Reston and Purceville
I biked 57 miles round trip between Reston and Purceville on W&OD
trail today, since I did not find a long hike to take this weekend. It
is sad to see that the Trail’s End Cycling co gone/closed. Now it is a
bakery. There were a biking fundraising event and a small fitness
festival on the trail side today. Since I didn’t bike much this summer,
it took a lot will power to paddle via the last 10 miles. Glad I am
done.
