DC Dragon Boat Festival 2023

I raced 4 times for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) today, twice 200 meters and twice 500 meters. I used to be able to overflow to fill the vacant spots for other teams to race more, but all the teams were all full today.
We ran into a questionable stirrer who slowed us down twice and capsized two other boats. Glad that we made it without flipping over the boat and won a gold medal in the 500-meter race.
I woke up 6 am in the cold and foggy morning to catch the 1st silver line metro train to Foggy Bottom this morning to make into the opening ceremony. The weather turned hot and sunny in the afternoon. I ate some bread and drank bobble tea for lunch, and delayed the giant food box until I finished running after got home. I am saving the rice dumping 粽子for tomorrow. BTW, I tasted a pineapple cake shaped like the Island Taiwan.
I was hoping to run 10 miles but ended up only 4.6 miles before it rained. I only ran 10 miles Sunday morning, so still short of 5 miles to complete my 20 hike/run mile weekend goal.

Musical Cabaret

After ran 10 miles Sunday morning, I ushered at Reston Center Stage for the musical Cabaret set in 1931 Berlin, about an American writer in love with English cabaret performer amidst the rise of the Nazi Party. Unfortunately, it was the last show, so you can’t see it.
Adding my 10 miles run on Saturday, I completed my 20 hike/run mile weekend goal. I didn’t hike due to Saturday rain since mid morning.

Anacostia Community Boathouse

I went in DC to train for the Dragon Bost Festival race with Taiwan Representative Office @ Anacostia Community Boathouse for 1.5 hours this afternoon. It took me 1.25 hr to ride METRO in, then walked 1.2 miles to the Boathouse. It was dry and cool for practice.

Friend's hike on AT

I hiked with friends today on the Appalachian Trail for 12.5 miles with 2200 feet elevation starting from the Manassas Gap trail. We came across a dozen of via hikers. On the way back, we stopped at the Jim and Nancy Dent Shelter for lunch.
I did some grocery shopping then came back home and ran 7.5 miles to complete my 20 hike/run miles weekend goal.

‘Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles’ at 1st Stage Theater

I ushered ‘Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles’ at 1st Stage Theater tonight. You need to see this shocking story of love, betrayal, murder, and revenge of a Mexican immigrant family in LA. Here is a review:https://mdtheatreguide.com/2023/04/theatre-review-mojada-a-medea-in-los-angeles-at-1st-stage-theatre/?fbclid=IwAR2c5yt9_38Fp_Icb-21qiowdMkOu9CxLM_qPVH7Erw0b3JcRjNMy0FrAtE
