 We got together at one friend’s house to make dumplings from scratch and celebrate her father’s 88th birthday.

Buck Ridge-Marys Rock-Buck Hollow 11 mile wet hike

 

I signed up a meetup hike and it was raining and cold most of the time Buck Ridge-Marys Rock-Buck Hollow. I hiked extra one mile while was waiting for the 2nd half of the group to make it total 11 miles with 2700 feet elevation gain.

Most of us was wet and cold so we skipped lunch and rushed down back to the cars to change to dry clothes. It was very foggy on top of the Mary’s Rock to see views anyway. The group shared drinks and snacks at the trailhead after the hike.

Some of us stopped by the winery after hike. I went grocery shopping then ran 7.5 miles after the hike. I was supposed to run 9 miles to finish my 20 hike/run miles weekend goal, but cut it short because a stranger tried to talk to me. Safety 1st. It rained so much so I didn’t take out my phone for photos until later. A lot of photos were taken by other hikers.

Pine Hill Trail to AT & Back on Broad Hollow Trail for 14 miles

 

I went hiking with three friends in the Shenandoah National Park along Pine Hill Trail to AT & Back on Broad Hollow Trail for 14 miles, 4200 feet elevation gain NON-stop, except 10 minute lunch break. The weather was nice and cool, and spring flowers were blooming.

We shared giant cookies and soft drinks at the end of hike. I like fast-paced hike so I can come back home early and ran 6 miles before dark. I hereby completed my 20 hike/run miles weekend goal.

“Hester Street" at Theater J

 

I went in DC to usher for a play “Hester Street" at Theater J. I like the three narrators/musicians blended in a story of Jewish immigrants' love, belief, and American dreams.

I discovered too late about today's Japanese street festival (part of the cherry blossom festival), so I didn't have time to swing by. Next year.

Furnace - Austin Mountains trails

 

I hiked Furnace - Austin Mountains trails in the southern section of SNP with friends for 13.25 miles with 3000 feet elevation gain in a cool and sunny day. We revered the direction of the hike to cross the high water level stream at the end of the hike. I ended up walked barefoot via the stream and the water was cold! We came across a few trail runners.

We stopped by a winery to drop off one hiker, but I didn’t drink there. Rather, I ran 2 miles around the winery. After grocery shopping, I ran 4.75 miles near my house to complete my 20 hike/run mile weekend goal.

First Stage: The Nance

  I ushered at First Stage theater @ Tysons this afternoon for The Nance, a story about a gay burlesque performer, Chauncey Miles, at the Irving Place Theater full with music, dance, and comedy sketches. I was 1-hr early by mistake. It was almost three hours including intermission.

Robertson Mountain to Nicholson Hollow Trail

 

It was cold and windy to hike Robertson Mountain to Nicholson Hollow Trail Via AT today for 11.5 miles with 3100 feet elevation gain. We got 23 hikers today with some new faces. It was so cold on top of Robertson Mountain that we couldn’t stay long there. We were concerned about high water levels from the rain, yet we crossed streams fine.

My legs got lazy in the recent months, so I fell to the middle of the group. I need to shake up and get back to shape.

After winery and grocery stops, I ran 8.5 miles to complete my 20 hike/run mile weekend goal.
