I ushered at Reston Community Center today for the play: What the Constitution Means to Me. Full house enjoyed the intriguing story with tears and laughers.
There was a nice birthday party in the center as well.
The weather suddenly turned cold this Saturday to 30f, so we hiked with frozen fingers from Pass mountain to Bird's Nest Shelter #4 for 13 miles with 2750 feet elevation gain.
We stopped by Wawa after hike to get hot drink and use the restroom. I asked the staff to adjust the hot coco machine, but she shaked the machine too hard and only powders came out.
Plus my 7.6 miles weekday run, I logged in 20.6 hike/run miles this week.
I
went in DC to usher “Eureka Day” at Theater J. It was sunny and warm
(80f), with a lot of dogwood and some cherry blossom. It was a story
about how a community's commitment to "consensus" implodes when faced
with a mumps outbreak.
I hiked Buck Ridge (the stairs), Cave falls, Mary’s rock then Buck Hollow with a meetup group for 14 miles with 3550 feet elevation gain this Saturday in cool and sunny weather. It was amazing to see our hiker leader carrying 37-lb extra weight for training the whole hike.
Plus my 7.55 miles weekday runs, I logged in 21.55 hike/run miles this week.
I ushered at 1st Stage theater at Tysons Corner for BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY this Sunday afternoon. This was story of a retired NYC police officer holding on his rent-stabilized apartment while fighting a lawsuit against the NYPD, surrounded by a "chosen family".
A few interesting twists and turns. There was a closing party after this show.
I joined a meetup hike to do REVERSE Bear Church Rock for 14 miles with 3300 feet elevation gain. The weather was sunny and cool (perfect for hiking), while the trails were dry and the stream crossings were pretty manageable, although some sections with snow. What a nice hike!
Plus 6.7 miles weekday runs, I logged in 20.7 hike/run miles this week.
I
drove 22 miles to Arlington to usher for Synetic Theater’s play ANTONY
& CLEOPATRA. Surprisingly, the traffic was smooth on I66 going there
and back. This adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy was wordless,
movement-based, so confusing at times, yet the stage design, customes,
and dance performances were flawless.
