Wardensville Fall Fextival anf half-moon hike

I hiked with three friends to the half moon overlook in George Washington National Forest today for 10 miles with 2000 feet elevation gain. We took time to take photos and stopped by a Festival on the way out in Wardensville West Virginia. We ate BBQ and steamed crabs at the festival while listening to a live country music band, and observed two live alpacas. I attended a dinner potluck with some Chinese friends afterwards. A busy and fun Sunday.

20-m hike along Mt. Marshall and Bluff Trails

I had a cool and fast Scenic hike along Mt. Marshall and Bluff Trails today for 20 miles with 4000 feet elevation gain. I and one other hiker ran into old friends on the trail. It was colder than the forecast 50-55 f most of the time. I also got some wild mushrooms to take home, and made garlic sautéed mushrooms.

Maker’s Mark event Ashburn

I invited one friend to join me at a Maker’s Mark event tonight at Ashburn. We enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres and bourbon-tasting paired with great conversations. We each also got a goodies bag.
