I
got in this prestigious private club founded in 1863 to sit among
international bankers (came in DC for IMF meetings) for a panel
discussion on Mastering flows, strengthening markets: How sovereign
institutions can enhance global liquidity. Although the keynote speaker
William Poole, Former President, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis could
not make it since his car broke down 50 miles away, the panel was still
pretty informative. I enjoyed my conversation with the formal Italian
finance minister and finger food. Its food prices even back in 1901 were
very expensive. No sure how much are the current food prices and
membership fees. — checked in to Metropolitan Club (Washington, D.C.).
