I
attended the Taiwan national day reception at the Twin Oaks Estate
tonight. The Twin Oaks (雙橡園) is an 18.1 acre estate located in the
Cleveland Park neighborhood in Washington, D.C.and the residence of nine
Republic of China ambassadors. On top of the gourmet food, I tasted the
2016 Kavalan (噶瑪蘭) whiskey which topped all the alcohol I had in my
life over 60s countries I visited. I paid top $ to
taste it in 2012 in Taiwan, and now it tasted 4 times better and cost
over 4 times as well at $250 USD per bottle (named the world's best
single malt whisky by World Whiskies Awards a few times). Nice to see so
many friends tonight, including my grad school classmate who was
visiting DC with a Taiwanese delegation. — checked in to Twin Oaks
