hiking on AT Roller Coaster in a sunny cold day

I got a good workout today hiking along the Roller Coaster of the Appalachian Trail one way for 14 miles (22.5 kms) with 3000 feet (915 meters) elevation gain in 30f (0c). Nice to see blue sky in a sunny cold day. We got a slow new hiker, one injured hiker, three lost & found hikers, and a 14-m shuttle along route 601 (which was the old Appalachian Trail). But for the delay caused by the new hiker, I could have a nice winery stop with my carpools. By the way, we passed via the horse country and ran into the traffic of a high society hunting on horses event.
