I ushered for a play “Royale” at First Stage tonight. The main
character, Jay Jackson is based on the great fighter and first black
world heavyweight champion, Jack Johnson. The play brilliantly designed
sound/base and acts to deliver the bloody boxing match experience from
both boxers’ perspectives.
