I hiked on the Roller Coaster section of the Appalachian Trail from the
Bears Den parking lot heading south out & back for 16 miles (25.7
kms) with 4800 feet (1460 meters) elevation gain in 50 f (10 c) with
social distance from other Tuesday Vigorous hikers and an unknown hiker
walking 6 dogs. Then I saw this in my news feed: “Appalachian Trail
