14-mile hile Manassas Gap - Whiskey Hollow Shelter

 

I joined a meetup hike on the Appalachian Trail between Manassas Gap and Whiskey Hollow Shelter for 14 miles with 2900 feet elevation gain in 60sf. We saw three hunters during the hike, had lunch at the shelter, and then saw a big black snake.

I did grocery shopping after the hike, attended HOA meeting, and then ran 6 miles to complete my 20 hike/run mile weekend goal. I was too tired to cook Saturday night the chicken of the woods wild mushrooms we found on the trail, so I cooked it on Sunday.
