Volunteer skating with kids with disability

at the Therapeutic Recreation Family Ice Skate Night at the Kettler Iceplex.  I tried on my own hockey skates and got a few tips form other volunteers.  Over 220 parents and children and 50+ volunteers showed up and had a great time.

The event was organized by Arlington Department of Parks and Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation Office. "Recreational therapy is a treatment service designed to restore, re mediate and rehabilitate a person’s level of functioning and independence in life activities, to promote health and wellness as well as reduce or eliminate the activity limitations and restrictions to participation in life situations caused by an illness or disabling condition."

SNP! Mt. Marshal: The Peak, Bluff Trail, AT: 17.7 Mile

It was foggy then rainy, and most unforgettably, the sole of my left hiking boots fell at 5 mile point. Other hikers helped me to duct-tape it back temperately to last about five strenuous miles, and then medical tape it for the last 7.7 miles. What a day! I have never looked more like a homeless. LOL

Jazz Concert at Austrain Embassy

The 2nd part of the performance was much better than the 1st part, and Austrian white wine at the after performance reception was delightful.

"Jazz harmonies interpreted baroque style, funky melodies with classical influence and impressionistic Jazz harmonies with Jazz solos invite you to groove and swing along. Wolfgang Seligo and Peter Strutzenberger casually play with Jazz, Funk and classical influences. "

Island of Dr Moreau

Watched a colorful and tense play Island of Dr Moreau
http://www.synetictheater.org/event_pages/island-dr-moreau/
— at Synetic Theater.  "Sometime in the future, a shipwrecked survivor is rescued to a remote island inhabited by the deranged Dr. Moreau and his "children" – experimental human-like animals or animal-like humans. This highly physical and immersive tale set to original and haunting music will create an intriguing and horrifying world to remember. "
