42 miles biking along W&OD trail

I biked 42 miles along W&OD trail from Falls Church to 1 mile beyond Smiths Switch Station in 70 F perfect sunny day, although a bit windy 20 mph and my right wrist has not fully recovered since early March. I rode on the same touring bike used 2 Yrs ago biking from Yorktown VA to Lexington KY. Time flies, but my legs become stronger from distance hiking. I did spare some energy to mow my yards after biking. At least one bikeable brew: Caboose Brewing Company in Vienna was open and croweded today. See the full list at:

MGM National Harbor

I stopped by the casino to check out the facilities. I cut my loss at $3 and continued my day. Great views of the river and the city. BTW, I saw this car size high hill shoe displayed in MGM. — at MGM National Harbor.

Endurance training 27M Hike: A Roller Coastal Section of AT

7 hikers took the Endurance training 27M Hike: A Roller Coastal Section of AT today. One fell on a wet rock and injured his thumb, so bailed out at 12 m point. I and the hike leader took 21 m 5000 ft version. I did it to take photos on the way out. It was actually pretty pleasant to hike in 55 f cloudy day, although some sections were muddy or with running off streams. — in Paris, Virginia

Data storage center

I attended Costar commercial real estate market trend breakfast at the Tower Club in the morning, toured Coresite new data storage center in Reston plus happy hours at M&S Grill in the afternoon, and then wrapped the day with a Cuatro de Mayo evening reception at the Tower Club by govtech. Too much fun in one day!

A busy day after an enterprise data storage lunch & learn at Eddie V seafood restaurant at Tysons and two congressional receptions in DC. The Annual Spring Reception on Capitol Hill by CA biopharms had live classic music outdoor was pretty pleasant in such a sunny and breezy spring day. On the other hand, the Reception Recognizing Cancer Research had crab cakes and a ton of PhDs. — at Folger Shakespeare Library.
