After hearing about the three ridges hike for 16 years, I finally took the 13.8 m 4300 ft gain hike today with my almost broken right knee! The views were great but we got only about 2 hrs of sun. The trail head is 2.5 hrs away from norther VA, so I waited until this day, and the hike has a lot of long switch backs to make it easier than the Robinson Mt trail. Nevertheless, I had to use ibuprofen to suppress the knee pain, and will find out more about my right knee tomorrow after the medication wears off. — checked in to Three Ridges Wilderness, George Washington National Forest .

Had an after hike meal of pork at the restaurant which I first time visited in May 2015 during my transamerica biking trip. My biking group stayed overnight at the town named 'Love', then drove to the restaurant for dinner. This time I came back with my hiking group sitting outside and ordered the food prepared right from the kitchen we could see and listening to live music. — checked in to Devil's Backbone Brewery, Nelson County, Va.
