I
took another winter hike along Appalachian Trail from Trumbo Hollow
(Linden, VA) to Sky Meadows with the same meetup group in 10-20f but no
wind. We started 10f at 7:30 am and thanks to the magic hand warmers!
I did not follow the group all the way to Sky Meadows but pacing around Dicks Dome Shelter to stay warm while avoiding crossing an icy stream. I still hiked 18 miles with 3800 feet elevation gain. Good training for my 2018 March hiking in New Zealand.
