After replacing the rear tire tube with a friend's help and an
adjustment by a bike mechanic, I rode my tour bike for 21 miles (34 km)
in this overcast Sunday afternoon. As I did not ride since 2016, I did
not engage my biking shoe cleats with the paddles to avoid falling.
There were very few people on the W&OD trail due to thunderstorm
forecast, and I only got rain at the last 5 miles. I saw five Virginia
state birds: cardinals, three rabbits and one beaver looking creature (I
did not see the feet so not sure, and the animal photos were found
online).
