I
hiked with the other nine hiking friends in George Washington National
Forest to Sherman Gap and an overlook then looped back for 10.5 miles
and 2000 feet elevation gain in 80f but extremely humid day. I enjoyed
some wild blue berries on the way (mostly still green), the overlook,
and cold drinks at the end of the hike. By the way, we saw the same
black snake sighted last weekend by another group. Also, this was the
first time I noticed the signage "OD 100" for Old Dominion 100 Mile
Cross Country Run. No, I don't think I will ever try it. Running 100
miles in 28 hours sounds impossible for me.
