I visited this theater in Tyson's corner for the first time, and ushered (setting up concessions and selling successfully) for an hour then watched this brilliant play for free (regular $30, groupon $35, not sure why more expensive). The best play-write I have ever seen.

"The play was named the best new play of 2010 by TIME Magazine, When the Rain Stops Falling is a monumental piece of theatre, epic in scope and poetic in language and imagery. This compelling family saga alternates in time (from 1953 to 2039) and place (from London to Australia). Encompassing four generations of fathers and sons and their mothers, lovers, and wives, the play is sweeping yet extraordinarily intimate. A riveting mystery that weaves its way through time and across oceans, the play is a “metaphor for the impossibility of escaping the past, for the way we are all shaped by what came before—and are living in the shadow of what comes next.” — checked in to 1st Stage.
