Watched
a very moving movie of the Washington DC Turkish Film Festival- 125
Years Memory (Ertuğrul 1890). In 1890, a poor Japanese fishing village
poured all its resources to rescue the survivors of a Turkish military
ship, and then in 1985 the Turkish embassy in Tehran allowed the
Japanese citizens stranded In Tehran to fly on Turkish rescue planes
before Turkish citizens to return the favors during the Iran-Iraq war.
It reminded me of all the kindness and help I received during my travel
via 60+ countries around world, and I will pay it forwards. Thanks to
all the friends, couch hosts, and strangers helped me alone the way! — checked in to Landmark's E Street Cinema.
